about rae…

Preservation of memory has long been a theme in Rae's work. Through imagery of wilting flowers she looks at the way we all hold tight to the moments that have defined us. Originally falling in love with wood and stone carving, Rae's newest body of work is hand pierced florals. The cutouts use the same subtractive elements of carving that she was originally drawn to with an additional focus on wearability.

After earning her BFA in metalsmithing and jewelry from Maine College of Art, Rae now lives and works in Portland, ME with her wife and several animal studio assistants.
